Updated Travel Protocols

Due to the rapid increase in cases, we will strictly enforce new travel protocols.

If you have travelled out of Oahu, or live with someone who has travelled, you must quarantine for atleast 10 days before coming to your appointment.

“What if I pretested before traveling and it came back negative? Can I come within 10 days of return?” No. Please self quarantine for 10 days prior to coming in to your appointment.

As always, please monitor yourself or others in your household for COVID-related symptoms.

10/13 update: Will Tier 2 reopen by 10/22?

October 13, 2020 update: All current appointments booked through Square are tentatively scheduled for the reopening of Tier 2. Please be aware that it may be subject to change or cancellation if Tier 2 (of the states reopening plan below) does not reopen indoors by October 22. There will be a news conference update by October 20/21. Stay up to date with us. Mahalo!
September 24, 2020: With deep regret I am forced to cancel all appointments between 9/24-10/21 due to being categorized as “Personal services” and unable to reopen outdoors until Tier 2. Please use your cancellation links to reschedule. I am hoping to reopen sooner as we wait for the Tier 2 green light. I have extended my hours and opened new days and times to accommodate everyone’s return with open arms!

I appreciate everyone’s texts and concerns and well wishes for my family and the business. The financial part during these shutdowns aren’t nearly the part that suffers. What hurts the most is that I may not have a business at the end of the day. Your patronage and support really help me survive especially knowing that you all continue to stick by my work. Please be patient as we all get through this together.

FAQ: Discontinuation of Home Isolation

For symptomatic patients with confirmed COVID-19:

  • At least 24 hours have passed since recovery with no or improved respiratory symptoms and resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications. 
  • At least 14 days have passed since the first symptoms observed.

For asymptomatic patients with confirmed COVID-19:

  • At least 14 days have passed since the first COVID-19 diagnostic test came out positive, assuming no symptoms were developed following the positive test.

For immunocompromised patients, those living in congregations such as jails or dorms, and healthcare workers dealing with immunocompromised patients:

  • Two consecutive negative results of COVID-19 tests collected ≥ 24 hours apart are required to discontinue isolation.

FAQ: When to Quarantine after being exposed to someone with COVID-19

Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others, helping to prevent spread of disease.

People who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 must quarantine for 14 days after their last contact with the COVID-19 positive person.

  • You were within 6 feet of someone with COVID-19 for a total 15 minutes or more.
  • You had direct physical contact with the person.
  • You shared eating or drinking utensils.
  • They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you.

Stay at Home Order 8/27/20

As you have heard, Government officials have executed the second Stay at Home Order effective August 27, 2020 for a tentative 14-days.

I will be notifying and cancelling all appointments between 8/27-9/10.

Once you have received your cancellation confirmation via email or text, please reschedule your appointment to a future date most convenient for you. Please wait for my cancellation email/text before rescheduling, this will help ease the digital scheduling system and avoid booking errors. Unfortunately due to high demand, all appointments are by first come first serve basis and I will not be able to manually schedule any “squeeze-in” appointments.

What we have learned from the first Stay at Home Order is to be fluid with changes. The possibility of this Order getting extended is high, so I encourage all of you to be very patient and stay positive. If there are extensions or changes that will affect any of your future appointments, please understand that I will be working on cancelling appointments as time nears. Again, you can reschedule your appointment anytime; my schedule will be openly available for you. I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences in advance.

Mask requirement update

  • Fabric or Medical grade mask use is required at all times.  Medical grade or surgical masks are OK. Not allowed are masks with one-way valves, neck gaiters, bandanas, or single layer fabric masks. Fabric face coverings should—
    • fit snugly but comfortably against the face
    • covers both nose and mouth
    • be secured with ties or ear loops
    • include atleast 2-layers of fabric
    • be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape

How to prepare for your appointment

Sanitation and safety has always been my main priority.  I am licensed with the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, the Board of Nursing, as well as the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.  I kindly ask that everyone be fluid with the changes that I have compiled.  Some of these include:

  • All clients (new and returning) are required to fill out the digital release form before their first appointment.  The digital form can be found under the link option above. This digital form only needs to be completed once (unless you need to update your address, phone number, medications, health, etc.)
    **A shortened COVID-19 questionnaire (“Red box form”) will also need to be completed outside before entering for all appointments. This form will be located in a red brochure box outside the entrance and is used for contact tracing.

  • Please use our alcohol based sanitizer upon entry. My wash basin is also available to use at any time and recommended to be used after your appointment is completed as well.
  • Restrooms will be relocated to the downstairs basement of the building; you will need a key. I highly recommend to use the restroom at home before arriving to allow the time allotted for your appointment
  • RED BOX FORM: This form is required at each appointment. Arrive a few minutes earlier to complete this. This form is a shortened up to date COVID questionnaire located in a red brochure box outside of my establishment. This form is used for contact tracing and properly shredded after 4 weeks. I highly recommend using your own pen to fill this out but I will leave a pen with it for those who forgot theirs. When you’ve completed your “red box form” please wait outside or in your vehicle and text 808-620-8449 with your name and I will give you the “OK to enter.”
  • No guests will be allowed to accompany clients (with the exception of a parent accompanying a minor getting serviced.)  Otherwise, only one patron allowed in the shop at a time.  
  • Cash-less payments are encouraged. Please set-up a Venmo account for cash-less payments or use a credit card. (All credit/debit cards incur a convenience charge of 3.288%). Cash is still a form of payment. All payments include sales tax 4.712%.
  • Stay connected with me by opting in for my emails and turning on post notifications via Instagram for @waxingbycariann.
  • Please do not bring in outside foods or drinks. The water dispenser will be unavailable for use as well. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • If you or someone in your household is not feeling well, please reschedule.

My 24-hour cancellation policy is still in effect for no-show/no-call missed appointments and incur a $25 fee.  If you need to reschedule due to an emergency or sickness within a 24-hr period, the cancellation fee may be used as a credit for your future appointment. Please contact me directly through text (808) 620-8449 if you need to cancel within 24-hours of your appointment time. All other cancellations or rescheduling can be done online by logging into your Squareup.com account.
